Maysville, KY – The Registered Nursing Program at the Licking Valley Campus of Maysville Community & Technical College (MCTC) has once again been ranked among the best Nursing Programs in the state of Kentucky by RegisteredNursing.org. This year earning the top spot with Berea College and the University of Kentucky ranking second and third respectively.
RegisterdNursing.org reviewed schools that offer an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, Bachelors of Science in Nursing, as well as Direct-Entry Masters of Science in Nursing Degrees.
“Our nursing instructors at the Licking Valley Campus have truly established a legacy of excellence,” says Associate Dean of Health Sciences Ginger Clarke. “We could not be more proud of them and our students who have worked incredibly hard to build this program to where it is today,” she adds.
The study ranks the top twenty programs in Kentucky using current and historical NCLEX-RN pass rates as the primary means to measure student support towards licensure and beyond. The National Council Licensure Examination or NCLEX is a nationwide standardized examination used by state regulatory boards to determine if recent graduates are prepared to become licensed as an entry-level nurse.
The Licking Valley Campus boasted a 96% pass rate of the NCLEX this year adding to its nearly perfect NCLEX exam pass rate for its RN program students since 2015.
“When you think of the journey these students and instructors have faced since the pandemic began, it’s amazing,” MCTC Provost Dr. Thomas Ware stated. “They had to adjust to changes in their mode of instruction while maintaining the same high standards that are expected of today’s health care professionals. The class of 2020 is one we will always remember.”
